Larry Beer has an outstanding track record in obtaining public sector approvals for development projects throughout the United States, and isĀ
nearly undefeated in zoning and permitting applications with more than 100 projects approved and only one denial. Prior to establishing a development consulting practice which becameĀ The Montview Companies, Beer was manager of the Denver Area Educational Telecommunications Consortium, a non-profit provider of instructional television programming for the K-12 classroom. From 1977 to 1991, he was a newspaper advertising executive, trade association manager and broadcaster. He is a licensed real estate broker, and holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Colorado.
He currently serves as a member of the City Council in
Aurora, Colorado, a city of 300,000 in the Denver metropolitan area and was previously a member of Aurora's Planning and Zoning Commission. He has served as chairman of the Denver cable television regulatory board and as a member of the Colorado Utility Consumers' Board, which advises the Colorado Public Utilities Commission on consumer issues. From 1999 to 2002, he served on the Board of Directors of a major regional mental health agency and as President of its affiliated low income housing corporation. He represented Colorado as a delegate to the 1996 and 2000 Democratic National Conventions.
